No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace
As I have seen in one autumnal face.

John Donne

This is a bracingly strong fall cocktail, appropriately called Autumn Leaves. It combines rye, apple brandy, and herbal liqueur brilliantly. The apple flavour is pure autumn.

According to Diffords, the cocktail was created in 2008 by Jeffrey Morgenthaler at the now shuttered Bel Ami Lounge in Portland Oregon.
