Mt. Fuji in spring

The Story

Geta (下駄) (pl. geta)[1] are traditional Japanese footwear resembling flip-flops. A kind of sandal, geta have a flat wooden base elevated with up to three (though commonly two) “teeth”, held on the foot with a fabric thong, which keeps the foot raised above the ground.

Traditional “Getas”

The COCKTAIL

The Japanese Slipper, which is one of the most elegant cocktail drinks ever created, doesn’t really have much to do with either Japan or slippers.

A subtle blend of Midori melon liqueur with Cointreau and lemon juice, the Slipper mixes sweet and tart flavors for a perfect before- dinner drink.

Why is it called the Japanese Slipper? Possibly because Midori is the Japanese word for green.
