Discover the elegant French Martini with its silky blend of vodka, Chambord and pineapple juice. A classic cocktail inspired by the romance of Paris, complete with recipe, story and Traveltini travel inspiration.

Paris in a Glass

There are cocktails that announce themselves with a flourish, and then there are those that simply lean across the table, smile knowingly, and invite you to stay a little longer.

The French Martini belongs to the latter.

Despite its name, this elegant little beauty wasn’t actually born in France. It first appeared in the stylish cocktail bars of New York during the late 1980s, at the dawn of the modern cocktail renaissance. Yet somehow it captured everything we imagine about Paris—effortless sophistication, understated glamour, and just a hint of romance.

Close your eyes and you’re wandering the Left Bank.

A violin drifts from a nearby café. Rain has just polished the cobblestones. The lights of the Seine shimmer beneath ancient bridges while lovers linger over conversations that have no intention of ending.

The first sip is silky and unexpected.

Velvety pineapple softens the crisp vodka, while Chambord wraps everything in luxurious raspberry notes. A creamy foam rises to the top, making every glass look as though it belongs in a grand Parisian hotel.

This isn’t a loud cocktail.

It’s the one you order when the evening is just getting interesting.

Santé!

The Cocktail

The French Martini is proof that simplicity can be luxurious. Only three ingredients are needed, yet together they create remarkable depth. Shake it vigorously to produce its signature frothy cap—the hallmark of a properly made French Martini.

Sweet without being sugary.

Fruity without being childish.

Traveltini Tip

Pair your French Martini with a leisurely evening rather than a hurried one.

Imagine yourself beneath the glowing lights of Montmartre, watching the world stroll past from a tiny sidewalk café. Add a plate of French cheeses, fresh baguette, or delicate macarons, and you’ve created your own little escape—no passport required.

After all, travel doesn’t always begin at the airport.

Sometimes it begins with the first sip.
