This is a fun drink to experiment with. For example, you could use half the cassis in the shaker, make the drink, then drizzle the remaining cassis into the drink over the twists of a bar spoon. You will get a purple haze that slowly dissolves and has a rather interesting look.

The COCKTAIL

The earliest known reference to the El Diablo cocktail is found in Trader Vic’s Book of Food and Drink published in 1946 and referred to as the Mexican El Diablo. 

It’s a devilish delight.

The Recipe


What you need


1 ½ oz Reposado Tequila 
½ oz Crème de Cassis liqueur
½ oz  fresh lime juice
3-4 oz  ginger beer
  
What you do


SHAKE the first 3 ingredients with ice and

SERVE over fresh ice in a Collins glass.
ADD ginger beer to top up the glass.  

Garnish: Slice of lime 
Serve: Highball or Collins glass
Style: Strong
Taste:Strong, berry
